Glory Ngarla
Glory was born in approximately 1948 at Boundary Bore in the Utopia region. Sadly, she passed away in 2002. Her country was Arlparra and language was Anmatyerre. She had six children with her late husband, who was Emily Knangwarreyre's first cousin. She was also the younger sister of the late Motor Car Jim.As did many of the Utopia women artists, she first began work in the Batik Medium. Glory's main Dreamings are "Bush Berry", "Bush Plum", "Yam Dreaming" and Body Paint. In 2001 Glory began to paint a new series of "Bush Berry" and "Bush "Plum" using square and rectangular areas of colour spread across the canvas, often in very bright colours depicting the richness of the fruit. These latest paintings have attracted a lot of attention. She was involved in several combined exhibitions featuring Utopia artists and her work is represented in many private collections.
